Don Kingfisher Campbell

In the Lacy Park Rose Garden

Whites cluster around each other

Yellows a little more shy facing the sky

Sunlit reds stand regally in beds

Magentas pair up, some on their own

Multi-colors look like a party in my eyes

Oranges appear like little whirling suns

Pastel pink, peach, and lavenders with

many petals like the finest prom dresses

Mission bell on a curved pole surrounded

by bricks makes for a great pedestal

for my love looks like she is in Spain

sporting a black broad-brimmed hat

featuring around the face tied lariat

She is really the loveliest bloom here

wearing a brown stem and placed blue

blossom over her black knit shoulders

Crimson lips in the center of her flower
